Do the best you can until you know better. Then when you know better, do better.

Workshops

Professional learning workshops use methods from Understanding by Design, Universal Design for Learning, and Design Thinking, along with learner-centered and project-based education.

I lead workshops and coach educators to help them better understand their students and improve learning design. My goal is to ensure all students can participate, feel included, and reach their potential. I carefully design workshops to promote active involvement, relevant content, and a safe environment for exploring new ideas and strategies.

These workshops actively involve participants through hands-on activities that demonstrate effective teaching practices. Participants work together to think critically and learn content relevant to their school and district goals. Time is allocated for reflection on current practices, setting goals, and planning, allowing them to apply new knowledge to their own situations with shared resources and strategies for the classroom.

Educator and Leadership Coaching

Coaching helps individuals or small groups apply what they learned in professional workshops. It aligns with workshop topics and emphasizes curriculum design, teaching strategies, and assessment methods, fostering a learning culture, and creating supportive learning spaces.

Classroom observations and feedback on specific areas can effectively assist teachers, coaches, and administrators in enhancing their skills.

Thought partnership and coaching can be effectively utilized as a purposeful follow-up to a workshop or can be conducted independently. We provide support to individual educators and/or small groups in the development of lesson plans and/or project designs, employing established frameworks such as Understanding by Design, Universal Design for Learning, and Design Thinking methodologies. This collaborative approach aims to enhance teaching practices and foster deeper learning experiences for all students.
