ENGAGING STUDENT LEARNING

Providing quality professional development for instructional leaders, principals, and teachers to increase student engagement, motivation, and learning.

SUPPORTING THE DESIGN AND IMPLEMENTATION OF RIGOROUS AND RELEVANT CURRICULUM AND LEARNING EXPERIENCES, THE USE  OF  MEANINGFUL AND AUTHENTIC ASSESSMENT PRACTICES, AND THE CREATION OF A POSITIVE LEARNING ENVIRONMENT BASED ON THE PEDAGOGY OF PROJECT BASED LEARNING.

Approach

How we work together can be organized around three main questions.

  • HERE ARE YOU GOING?  Outcomes. Determining and sharing clear outcomes and having a vision of what it looks like to meet these increases the probability of success.  Conversations before the work begins helps develop a shared understanding of the outcomes and plot the journey toward meeting those outcomes.

  • WHERE ARE YOU NOW?  Assessment. With the outcomes identified, the current reality can be assessed; What is already in place?  What are the bright spots? What differentiation, if any, is needed?

  • HOW DO YOU GET THERE? Action. The appropriate scope and sequence for professional development can be planned and implemented including opportunities for regular assessment of level implementation and impact on instruction and student learning allowing for thoughtful revision and adjustment when needed.

I have been impressed with the urgency of doing.
Knowing is not enough; we must apply.
Being willing is not enough; we must do.
