Learning Cycle
The learning cycle is an instructional model designed to promote inquiry and discovery throughout the entire learning process; it represents a sequenced and organized process that is beneficial for both instruction and learning.
This model emphasizes a series of steps that not only encourage a more thorough understanding of various concepts but also enhance the practical application of content in diverse contexts. Research indicates that educators who actively engage in a learning cycle develop a significantly deeper understanding of the material, resulting in positive impacts on their learners' achievements and overall engagement. The Learning Cycle is structured to facilitate continuous learning experiences, both in-person and virtually, and includes valuable opportunities to:
deepen understanding of core subjects,
set clear and achievable goals,
apply new learning in meaningful ways,
assess evidence of understanding, and
reflect on and share insights gained.
While utilizing the learning cycle can greatly enhance the educational experience, participation in it is entirely optional and not a prerequisite for engaging in the professional learning workshops that we offer.
