Outcomes. Design and implementation of quality performance assessment. Increased student reflection on learning. 

 Instructional Implementation.  Supporting 6th grade teachers at one middle school to design and implement performance assessments. Deepening understanding of the implementation of the workshop model with a focus on debrief and reflection to promote student metacognition and ability to articulate their own learning process. 

Instructional Design.  Supporting 6th grade teachers at one middle school to design quality performance assessments.

Performance Assessments. Supporting District Instructional Coaches in deepening understanding of the role of effective assessment practices on a daily basis, design and implementation of quality assessment of for learning with a focus on the effective use of performance assessments in order to support staff at their school site.

Hewlett Foundation. Deeper Learning Leadership Forum

Members of cohort 1 sharing powerful words and phrases after fieldwork in The Mission District,San Francisco, researching the essential question 'How gentrification impacts the community."

Outcomes. Building Deeper Learning Networks.

Facilitating two Deeper Learning Leadership Forums; presently 30 educational leaders form across the US. The cohorts meet 6 times during the course of 18 month period. Participants experience professional development that models best instructional practice and project based learning strategies  in deepening understanding of Deeper Learning and Educational Equity. 

The intended end result is that  each member will establish their own 'Deeper Learning Cohort in the local region. The work is grant funded by the Hewlett Foundation.

Outcomes. Deepened understanding of the 'Intersection of Pedagogy, Assessment, and Environment'.

Facilitating the second year of the Re-Imagining Learning Collaborative; a group of 25 K-12 educators in deepening understanding of Pedagogy, Assessment, and Environment. The cohort meets 5 times during the school year for whole group professional development. Includes looking at student work, analyzing data from classroom walkthroughs, and  identifying and developing best instructional practices that can transfer to the classroom.
